Young Darwin Prize

Win £500 for your school or community group in the Young Darwin Prize, a video competition for young people aged 7-14 years old.

Selected entries will even be invited to present their work at The Big Bang Fair, which is in London this March.

Your challenge is to make a 2-minute film about an aspect of your local environment, from a survey of wildlife in your local park, to growing vegetables in your school grounds.

This is an ideal summer holiday activity; there are materials to help you plan the film and upload it on the site.

Start planning your films now: the closing date is 31 August 2010.

Chris Packham, BBC Springwatch presenter, is a supporter and looking forward to seeing the entries: ‘this is a great way to find out more about the wildlife in your local area- get involved!
