STFC has a very good apprenticeship scheme for anyone interested in engineering – electrical, electronic and mechanical. With a competitive salary, an apprenticeship is an ideal start to a career in engineering.
Things to think about if you're 18
For most of our roles here a degree is a real asset. Be it in physics, engineering, space science or chemistry, there are many different areas. You may be surprised to learn that ISIS, our particle accelerator, has many more roles for people with an engineering or materials science background than for phyisicists.
