Assessment

Bronze Awards can be assessed internally, by another teacher or leader from the participating school or organisation. We could help with assessment if required.

A representative of the British Science Association may request to see a sample of Profiles from time to time as part of the quality control process.

Bronze is the entry level for CREST so assessment is less rigorous than for Silver and Gold levels. The standard depends a lot on the student’s enthusiasm! 10 hours is not a long time to spend on a project, so assessors will be looking for a fairly straight-forward investigation or problem-solving activity. Some direction from a teacher is acceptable.
